In 1991, artist Marek Julian Zaleski launched
"The Earth Gallery"
 in Winnipeg to share and preserve
the unspoken beauty of the natural
 heritage of Canadian Land.

"Earth Voices"

In 1993, a photographic art collection - “A Journey into the Spirits of the Ancient Rainforest”, was created in the Carmanah Valley on Vancouver Island.

At that time, it was one of the largest remaining tracts of ancient
temperate rainforest on earth - today it is almost nonexistent.

"Patience"

“A Journey into the Spirits of the Ancient Rainforest” was premiered
in June 1993 at the Canadian
Pacific Waterfront Centre in Vancouver,
then exhibited at Eaton Centre in Victoria.

"SOLACE"

Over the next ten years, the collection was exhibited across the country at museums, galleries, theatres, universities, national and international events, and major business centers including TD Centre in Toronto in 1995.

"Ancient Warrior"

In 2000, a second chapter was added to the exhibit tour, “Legends of Sgaang Gwaii ”from the land of
The Haida Nation.

"Solitude"

"Legends of Sgaang Gwaii"
had its world premiere at the Royal BC Museum
Victoria BC  June - August 2000.

The spiritual and cultural significance of 
“Legends of Sgaang Gwaii” collection was recognized
and 
endorsed by Gidansda Guujaaw.

Remember Carmanah Valley

"A Journey into the Spirits of the Ancient Rainforest" was shown
(from 1993 to 2002) to over one hundred thousand Canadians
during numerous individual exhibits across the country. 

Daughter of artist - Barbara at Pantages Theatre in Winnipeg, 1994.

Set of 15 prints from the collection from "A Journey into the
Spirits of the Ancient Rainforest" was donated to the City
of Winnipeg by Bill & Shirley Loewen.
